Meet the Team

Picture
​Program Director​

​Victoria D. Ojeda, PhD, MPH is a Latina, bilingual and bicultural Associate Professor in the Division of Global Public Health in the Department of Medicine at UCSD. Dr. Ojeda holds a BA in Psychology and Spanish from Brandeis University. She obtained her MPH and PhD in Community Health Sciences from the School of Public Health at UCLA. Dr. Ojeda completed a NIMH Post-doctoral fellowship in Mental Health Policy at the Department of Health Care Policy at the Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on the health, mental health, and socioeconomic issues affecting disadvantaged communities, including justice involved persons and those at risk for incarceration. She has published on health services issues including access to health insurance coverage, utilization of health and mental health services, and the financing of mental health care. Dr. Ojeda is responsible for overall direction of the project.

Clinical Supervisor​

​Zephon Lister, PhD, LMFT is a Clinical Associate Professor, in the Division of Family Medicine at the UCSD School of Medicine; he is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Lister earned his doctorate in Marriage & Family Therapy from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in Medical Family Therapy and completed his post-doctoral training at the Chicago Center for Family Health (an affiliate of the University of Chicago). His clinical and research interests include the recursive influences of family relationships and chronic health conditions and the integration of behavioral health into health care settings. Dr. Lister is responsible for overseeing health coaching activities and clinical staff.

Training Facilitator

​Todd Edwards, PhD, LMFT is a Professor of Marital and Family Therapy at the University of San Diego. He is also a Visiting Professor at NOVA University in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Edwards is a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Editor of the International Journal of Systemic Therapy. His scholarly interests include the integration of family therapy into primary care and friendships in adulthood. Dr. Edwards is responsible for facilitating health coaching training and activities for the service navigators.

Research and Evaluation Lead

​Sarah Hiller, MA is a bilingual Research Associate at UCSD. She holds a Masters of Pacific International Affairs from UCSD's School of International Relations/Pacific Studies, with a focus on International Development and Economics. She has experience designing, implementing, analyzing data, and reporting findings in both English and Spanish for both qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation projects. Sarah supervises the collection of evaluation data and contributes to analysis, interpretation and dissemination of findings.

Service Navigator

Gustavo ‘Tavo’ Vega is a graduate student at San Diego State University in the Master's of Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Mental Health program. He also received a B.A. in sociology with a minor in psychology from SDSU. Tavo is a justice-impacted Service Navigator for UCSD RELINK. He uses his lived experiences and academic knowledge to serve the formerly incarcerated community. During his incarceration, he assumed various leadership roles to advocate for higher education, fostered healing with Restorative Justice principles, and facilitated programs on various topics. Since his release, Tavo has served as a house manager for a reentry sober living, youth mentor, case manager, drug counselor, and outreach coordinator for Project Rebound. ​

​Service Navigator
​
Silvia Castillo
 is a graduate student at San Diego State University working towards obtaining her LPCC license through the Rehabilitation Clinical Counseling Masters Program. Silvia's educational journey began at San Diego City College where she received an A.A. in Social Work and a B.A. in Social Work from San Diego State University. She is an active member of Project Rebound at San Diego State University and is a Reentry Service Navigator for the UCSD RELINK Program. Silvia identifies as formerly incarcerated and aims to use her lived experiences to empathetically collaborate with the individuals she serves to help aid and foster transformative change.
